Terms

Last updated: 15 October 2026

These terms are between Cloud Pickle, a trading name of Steven Brown of Spalding, Lincolnshire ("we" or "us"), and you, the business we build a website for. They apply from the day you ask us to build your website. The monthly fee starts on the day it goes live.

1. Your free website

We design and build your website for free and show it to you before it goes live. You don't owe us anything until you're happy with it and ask us to put it live.

If we don't hear back from you for 30 days while we're building, we may close the build. You're welcome to start again later.

2. What the monthly fee covers

Your website costs £35 a month. That covers:

  • hosting your website and its SSL certificate
  • keeping the website up to date and secure
  • regular backups
  • unlimited everyday changes to your existing pages (see section 3)

3. Everyday changes and bigger work

Everyday changes are edits to what's already on your website, such as text, photos, prices and opening hours. We usually make them within 2 working days. Unlimited means you never pay for everyday changes, used fairly: a large batch sent at once, or changes that add up to new pages, new features or a redesign, count as bigger work.

Bigger work includes new pages, new features, redesigns, automations and AI tools. We'll always give you a price first, and nothing starts until you've agreed it. You pay half when you agree the price and half when the work is finished. Invoices are due within 14 days.

4. Your domain name

Your domain name (for example yourbusiness.co.uk) is registered in your name and charged to you at cost once a year. We'll invoice you before it renews and renew it once it's paid. If it isn't paid by the renewal date, the domain may lapse, and we can't be responsible for that. We look after the domain while we host your website. If you leave, we'll help you move it to wherever you like.

5. Payment

The monthly fee is paid by Direct Debit through GoCardless, starting on the day your website goes live. We're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add to our prices.

We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it starts.

If a payment fails, we'll let you know by email. If it's still unpaid after 14 days, we may take your website offline until it's paid. If it's still unpaid after 60 days, we may end the service as if you had cancelled, and section 9 applies.

6. Email

Email addresses aren't included. We're happy to help you connect your domain to Microsoft 365 for email, which you pay Microsoft for directly.

7. Other companies' services

Some things your website relies on are run by other companies, such as Microsoft 365, booking apps, payment providers and the domain registry. We'll help you use them, but we're not responsible for how they work, and their costs and terms are between you and them.

8. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time by emailing us. There's no minimum contract. We just ask for 30 days' notice: your payments stop at the end of those 30 days, and section 9 explains what happens to your website.

9. Who owns the website

  • Your content is always yours. The words, photos and logos you give us belong to you.
  • The first 24 months. While we look after your website for the first 24 months, the design and code belong to us and you have the right to use them.
  • After 24 months. Once you've paid 24 monthly fees, the website is yours. If you leave after that, we'll hand over all the website files so you can host it anywhere.
  • Leaving within 24 months. If you cancel before you've paid 24 monthly fees and want to keep the website, you can buy the website files for a one-off £1,600. Otherwise we'll take the website down when your service ends, and we'll send you back your own content if you ask.
  • Our tools stay ours. We keep the rights to our own templates, code and know-how, which we use for every website we build. When the website becomes yours, you get a permanent right to use everything that's in it.

10. Your part

  • Your content. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us, and that it's accurate and lawful. If it isn't, and that leads to a claim or costs for us (for example a copyright claim over a photo), you'll cover them.
  • Using the website properly. Your website mustn't be used for anything illegal, harmful, misleading or for spam. If it is, we can take it offline straight away.
  • Your business's own information. You're responsible for your business's privacy notice, cookie information and trading details on your website. We'll add whatever you give us.
  • Your own copies. We keep regular backups of your website, but please keep your own copies of your photos and text too.

11. Your customers' details

When people fill in a form on your website, their details pass through our systems. You decide what's collected and why. We only use those details to run your website and as you ask us to. We keep them secure and confidential, make sure anyone who helps us does the same, help you if someone asks to see or delete their details, and tell you without delay if anything goes wrong. When your service ends, we'll delete them or give them back to you, whichever you prefer.

12. Showing our work

We may show your website as an example of our work, on our website and on social media, and add a small "Website by Cloud Pickle" link to your website's footer. If you'd rather we didn't do either, just tell us and we'll stop or remove it.

13. What we'll do

We'll look after your website with reasonable care and skill, keep it secure and up to date, and fix anything we've broken at no cost. We aim to keep your website online at all times, but like any website it can occasionally be unavailable, for example during maintenance or if our hosting provider has a problem.

We're not responsible for delays or problems caused by things we can't reasonably control, such as a hosting or power failure, a cyber attack or serious illness. We'll tell you as soon as we can and put things right as quickly as possible.

14. Our liability

We're not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost business, profits, income, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

15. If we need to end the service

We can end the service by giving you 60 days' notice. If we do, we'll hand over all your website files at no cost, however long you've been with us. We can take a website offline straight away if it's used as described in section 10, or for unpaid fees as set out in section 5.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 30 days before any change takes effect. If you don't agree with it, you can cancel before it does, and we'll hand over your website files at no cost.

17. Notices and complaints

We'll send notices to the email address you use with us, and you can send yours to hello@cloudpicklesolutions.com. If you're ever unhappy, email Steve and we'll aim to sort it out within 14 days.

18. The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
